Notice the new del.icio.us feature I am using?

Welcome! If you're interested in the same kind of things I am, consider adding this site to your favorites, or better yet, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed (using BlogBridge, of course) . Welcome, and thanks for visiting!

The feature isn’t new, it’s actually pretty old. It’s also very poorly documented. But it’s new to me. I’ve configured del.icio.us to automatically create a post to my blog of all the tags I’ve submitted in the last 24 hours.

If you are a del.icio.us user, look under “settings”, “experimental”, “daily blog posting” for the setting. Then ask me or google for an explanation of what the fields mean.

Combined with the Tagging feature in BlogBridge, it allows me to post to my blog (virtually) with almost no effort. So when I am traveling (like I was the last 2 days) I can still show some semblance of activity on my blog. Very cool.

Will it make me a lazy blogger? What’s a lazy blogger anyway?

    Pito,
Thanks for the tip. FYI, below are some links for how to set this up in a few different blogging systems:

    Wordpress:
    http://jacksonwest.wordpress.com/2005/10/08/delicious-daily-blog-post-settings-for-wordpresscom-users/

    MoveableType:
    http://www.commoncraft.com/archives/001028.html

Typepad users (from their support system):
Click on the new link labeled “a new thingy.” This will ask you to complete the following fields:

    * job name - This field can be labeled whatever you would like.
    * out name - Enter your TypePad username.
    * out pass - Enter your TypePad password.
    * out url - Enter this
    * out time - Enter the time you want the posts to occur. This uses GMT time with single digits 0-23.
    * out blog id - enter your TypePad blog ID number. You can find this by moving your mouse over your weblog name from the Weblogs tab. The blog ID is the number at the end of the URL
    * out cat id - This field is not supported in TypePad currently.

When finished filling in these fields, click on “Submit Query.”
