Those are not "your companies" dude
Check out It’s Not My Company(from Feld Thoughts:)
"While I’ve got plenty of rights as an investor, I’m very aware that I’m “an investor.” If you are a CEO or an entrepreneur, I can’t imagine anything more annoying than hearing one of your investors refer to the business as “his company.” Now, if the investor owns more than 50% of the company, I guess this is a legitimate legal perspective, but it’s still an incredibly demotivating position to tak" (from: It’s Not My Company)I couldn't agree more. I have many VC friends and acquaintences (there is a difference :) and I always mentally smirk when I hear them talking about 'my companies' and words to that effect.

Pito,
I hope you don't mind me contacting you like this but i have followed your work for a number of years now and i have just started using Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables and have a major issue. I believe you are the "father of pivot tables" and felt i had nowhere else to turn.
I am using the tables to produce a report showing how many quotes i have issued this month against how many orders i have received. The problem is the data i am collating from my online system creates a separate record for each quote.
I.e. - If i quote a limit for $1m AND for $2m then this will creat 2 records with 1 reference number. If i get the order on this business then it looks as though i have bound 2 orders instead of one.
Can you help with eradicating this problem?
Thanks Tito.
I couldnt agree more - while an investment does imply some form of 'ownership' branding it your company is total overkill...
